ABOUT CARPIN MUSIC
Making music and videos,
and keeping notes along the way.
I make songs and music videos as a hobby, using AI along the way. I try out sounds that come to mind and scenes I'd like to see, using whatever tools I have.

01 / PLAYGROUND
Starting with
what I have.
I made both the music and the videos on my phone at first. I still make the songs on my phone; the videos and this site are now mostly made on a PC. It still amazes me that you can start without special equipment.
Sometimes I hear a song and wonder what kind of scene would fit it. Sometimes I try making a still image move. It doesn't always work, but the trying is often the fun part.
Pop, rock, rap, dance—I don't stick to one genre. I follow whatever catches my interest at the time.
02 / TOOLS
Whatever tool seems useful
at the time.
These are the main tools I've used so far. Each piece calls for a different mix. I try new things, and sometimes stop using old ones.

03 / MAKING
Trying things with AI.
AI sometimes gives me a sound or image I wasn't expecting. I keep what I like and try again when it doesn't fit. I enjoy that back and forth.
Finding the right images for a song is part of it. When I publish an MV, I try to give the whole track a video, from beginning to end. Once I've made a song, I want to see what it looks like all the way through.
AI lets me try more ideas than I could before. I make the routine parts easier where I can, but I still enjoy taking time to choose between versions. This is a hobby, so there's no need to rush.
Along with the finished songs and videos, I keep notes here about the attempts that didn't work and the detours I took.
04 / TWO LANGUAGES
Two languages,
two recordings.
Some songs begin with the same idea and are released in Japanese and English. The lyrics and vocals differ, and the music changes a little too. Some music videos use the same footage.
