TOKYO MEOW
A note from this site
From Asakusa rooftops to Yanaka alleys and Shibuya at night, a stray cat finds warm spots and places to sleep. This English version of 東京ネコ watches Tokyo hurry by at a cat’s pace.

Read the original Suno description
People rush. I just sleep.Tokyo Neko follows a black cat through Tokyo, one rooftop, backstreet, and well-earned nap at a time.He wakes above Asakusa, follows the smell of fish, and makes his way past Ueno into Yanaka’s narrow lanes. Evening brings Koenji’s market streets, Nakano offers shelter from the rain, and Shinjuku’s neon gives way to the quieter city before Shibuya’s first trains. No collar. No plans.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1]
Asakusa sunrise, up on the roofs
Wake to the smell of fish—that’s my cue
Past Ueno, down to Yanaka
The tighter the alley, the more it’s mine
No collar
No plans
Got a few good spots to crash
One patch of sun gets five stars
AC vents keep winter warm
People take trains
I take the walls
No waiting for green
Next neighborhood calls
[Hook]
Life’s good for a cat in Tokyo
Roof to roof across Tokyo
People rush
I just sleep
That’s about
The pace I keep
Life’s good for a cat in Tokyo
Lane to lane across Tokyo
No house of my own
But a place to come home?
All over town
Yeah, I’ve got those
[Beat Switch]
Koenji
Evening
Market street
Something smells good
Rain in Nakano
Borrow some shelter
[Female - Distant]
That cat’s here again!
[Male Cat]
You bet.
[Verse 2]
Shinjuku neon
Way too bright
One street back
Now that’s more like it
Shibuya, before
The first train runs
Under the tracks
I wash my face
Bells
Footsteps
Trains far away
I hear it all
No need to hurry
A map app?
Don’t need that
The wind and the smells
Tell me where I’m at
[Glitch Hook]
TOKYO
MEOW
TOKYO
MEOW
Dawn in Asakusa
Night in Shibuya
Everything between?
Just taking a stroll
[Final Hook]
Life’s good for a cat in Tokyo
People rush by, I take it slow
Asakusa, Ueno
Koenji
Nakano, Shinjuku
To Shibuya
Life’s good for a cat in Tokyo
Out on my own, wherever I go
Nobody owns me
Nobody rushes me
When I get sleepy
That’s where I sleep
